Around 1915, the Juarez Family relocated to Los Gatos. In 1916, Dee received her First Holy Communion at St. Mary’s and went to grade school in the Old Town shopping center. She graduated from Los Gatos High and following a stint at a secretary school, she began a 40-year career at a local title company. In 1936, during the Great Depression, Dee married Lewis Cairns, her longtime “sweetheart” and in 1940, the couple bought a home in Monte Sereno, where they lived, without children, until Lewis died in 1980. In 2010, the widow moved to the Los Gatos Meadows, a retirement community.
