It’s the semi-autobiographical account of two Canadians, Ted Dykstra and Richard Greenblatt, musicians with sufficient early prowess at the keyboard that visions of stardom danced in their heads. Dykstra was born in Ontario, Greenblatt in Quebec. Independently, each fantasized about becoming a famous classical pianist. Dykstra and Greenblatt eventually turned their travails into comedy gold after meeting at a Toronto piano concert. The pair wrote and originally performed in “2 Pianos 4 Hands,” which is being presented by TheatreWorks from Jan. 14 through Feb. 8 at Mountain View’s Center for the Performing Arts. Directed by Tom Frey, the production stars Darren Dunstan as Ted and Christopher Tocco as Richard.
